Turning Heads Programs

Log Cabin Ranch
Turning Heads created a center that offers vocational and entrepreneurial training to male youth
offenders at Log Cabin Ranch, a residential treatment facility managed by the Juvenile
Probation Department. The program started in 2003.

Sewing and Fashion Design
The sewing and fashion program is held in the Mission District, and provides formal sewing
training, fashion techniques, and business skills to San Francisco girls ages 14 to 18.
We are now in our third cycle.

Special Project Initiatives
Turning Heads pilots new program ideas based on the interest of our students, alliances with
other community organizations, and opportunities in the marketplace. Since 2003, we have run
retail training internships for youth in detention, facilitated youth sales projects targeting
specific holidays, and taught business programs for a youth silk-screening project, a hip-hop
music education program, and bilingual arts program for Spanish speaking youth.
